In the Kimberley Region adjacent to the Shire of Broome, the park covers approximately 204,000 hectares within the Bardi and Jawi Sea Country featuring islands, reefs and intertidal systems with significant foraging and hunting habitats which are home to unique corals, whales and dugongs.

Rich with cultural significance, the park is used consistently by Bardi and Jawi people for hunting and fishing for food, cultural activities and business. 

The plan includes management arrangements for the Swan Island Nature Reserve located on Gardiny (Swan Island) off the northern tip of the Dampier Peninsula.
