Situated on the edge of the Darling Scarp 25 kilometres from the Perth Central Business District, this ‘A’ class reserve established in 1898, covers 2,676 hectares.

The landscape includes native bushland, valleys and undulating hills covered with a diversity of vegetation, granite outcrops, waterfalls and stream courses.

The park is popular for its picnic areas, lookouts, natural pools and trails including the rail formation Heritage Trail. The park’s streams have great Aboriginal significance, especially Jane Brook due to the presence of the mythological Waygl.
