Millstream Chichester National Park and Mungaroona Range Nature Reserve

ApprovedThe Millstream Chichester National Park lies in the Pilbara region of Western Australia’s North West, about 150 kilometres south of Karratha. Mungaroona Range Nature Reserve lies about 100 kilometres east of Millstream.
This nationally significant wetland ecosystem supports a high diversity of flora and fauna, unique wilderness, rangelands, and permanent springs and open pools along the Fortescue River. The associated Millstream aquifer is an important public drinking water supply for the towns of the Pilbara.
These wetlands and surrounding area holds considerable cultural significance for the Yindjibarndi and Ngarluma people and one of the most significant Indigenous sites of importance in Western Australia.
