Armillaria luteobubalina, the Australian honey fungus, is a native plant pathogen.

It is widespread throughout south-eastern and south-western Australia, where it is the cause of Armillaria Root Disease (ARD).

Unlike most other Armillaria species, which are secondary plant pathogens, A. luteobubalina is both a primary and secondary plant pathogen. It has a host range of more than 200 native plant species.

In healthy, undisturbed native ecosystems, it contributes to the death of weakened and stressed trees and shrubs. In disturbed ecosystems, such as managed native forests, plantations, parks and gardens, it can become a particularly aggressive pathogen, leaving a large impact on both native and exotic species.
