The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) is considering measures to manage increasing demand for private vessel moorings, with a focus on minimising environmental impacts and ensuring public safety.

A draft mooring plan for the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park has been developed and released for public comment until midnight Friday 1 May 2026.

You’re invited to have your say on the draft plan which is available for download below.

Community input is an important part of this process, and you’re invited to share your views on the draft plan by:

  • Complete the draft mooring plan online survey (preferred)  
  • email your comments to moorings@dbca.wa.gov.au
  • post a written submission to the Marine and Riverpark Coordinator at: Attn 
    DBCA, 14 Capo D’Orlando Drive, South Fremantle 6162.

All feedback received during the comment period will be reviewed and will help shape the final plan.
