DAS Phase II Update
DBCA's Conservation and Ecosystem Management Division and Forest Management Branch are pleased to announce the launch of DAS Phase II on 30 June 2025. This release introduces enhanced functionality, including proposals prefilled with spatial data to enable faster and more efficient assessments. A fact sheet is available in the downloads section below or you can email das@dbca.wa.gov.au for assistance.
Applications to carry out a selection of disturbance activities on Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ managed lands can be applied for online via the department’s Disturbance Approval System (DAS).
The Disturbance Approval System (DAS) is designed to support the assessment of environmental, social, and economic risks associated with proposed activities on lands managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA). Its purpose is to ensure that approved activities align with departmental objectives, relevant management plans, and land use categories, while ensuring impacts are avoided, removed, or reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
DAS streamlines and improves the process for seeking permission to undertake works that may affect identified values. It provides a consistent and transparent framework for assessing proposals and applying meaningful management actions and compliance requirements where necessary. The system applies to all disturbance activities (excluding mining), including works such as installation of utilities, roads, recreation sites, and plantation management.
The DAS dashboard provides users with an overview of all pending applications and approvals that have been issued.
Enquiries about the system should be sent to das@dbca.wa.gov.au.
