Covering 4,913 hectares (44 per cent) of the Burrup Peninsula on the Pilbara coast of WA, the land is privately owned by the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation and jointly managed with DBCA as a national park. The park features the largest and most diverse collections of rock art in the world with some dating back 47,000 years. Featuring steep rocky outcrops, narrow valleys, mangroves, mudflats and sea cliffs, with widespread hummock grasslands.

The Murujuga area is currently being nominated for the World Heritage List in recognition of its outstanding Aboriginal cultural value.
