DBCA received an application from the City of Nedlands for a material change of use at the Charles Court Reserve playing fields to increase lighting levels to support night time sporting use. The proposal includes replacing the existing lighting towers with eight new lighting towers and LED luminaires.

The draft report for this proposal was open to the public for comment from 27 February to 13 March 2026.

Next steps: 

• All submissions will be considered by the Director General in the preparation and endorsement of the final report.  
• The endorsed final report and recommendation, and all submissions received, will be sent to the Minister for the Environment for determination.
• The Minister’s determination will be uploaded to this page and the Development Application process is complete. The applicant will be responsible for meeting the requirements of the conditions of approval.
